Alive Church has 12 basic truths, have a look at them below, we would encourage you to look up the scriptures for yourself so you can see why we believe what we believe.

The Bible

We believe that the Bible (Old and New Testaments) is the inspired Word of God. It is true and reliable. 2 Timothy 3:15-16, 2 Peter 1:21

The Existence of God

We believe there is one God, who has revealed Himself as 3 persons; Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Deuteronomy 6:4, Mark 12:29, Matthew 28:19

The Fall of Man

We believe mankind was created pure, but chose to turn away from God, and so became separated from Him. Genesis 1:26-31, 3:1-7, Romans 5:12-21

We believe in Jesus who was born by  virgin-birth, lived a sinless life, worked miracles, and died in our place on the cross, has risen from death, has gone back to heaven, and that He will come back again. Matthew 1:23, 1 Peter 2:22, Acts 2:22, 10:38, Revelation 20:1-6

Salvation through Christ

We believe an authentic Christian is someone who has received the gift of salvation through believing and trusting in Jesus, who died for our sins and rose again from the grave. Titus 2:11, 3:5-7, Romans 10:8-15, 1 Corinthians 15:3-4

We believe that everyone who has truly devoted their life to Jesus should be baptised through full immersion in water. Matthew 28:19, Acts 10:47-48

Baptism of the Holy Spirit

We believe that baptism in the Holy Spirit is an essential part of the Christian life. It’s designed to empower believers for service and to tell other about Jesus. Acts 1:4-5, 8, 2:4, 10:44-46, 11:14-16, 19:6

Gifts of the Holy Spirit

We believe Christians can operate in the Gifts of the Spirit that were at work in the early church, as recorded in the Bible, are still at work today. 1 Corinthians 12:4-11, 28, Ephesians 4:7-16

God Centred Living

We believe we’re designed as Christians to strive to live a life that honours God in all we say, think and do. 1 Peter 1:14-16, Hebrews 12:14, 1 John 2:6

We believe God can and does heal the sick. Isaiah 53:4-5, Matthew 8:16-17, James 5:13-16

Breaking of Bread

We believe a committed Christian should regularly be involved in breaking bread with others. Luke 22:14-20, 1 Corinthians 11:20-34

Eternal Life

We believe in both an eternal heaven and hell and that faith in Jesus Christ makes all the difference for eternity. Revelation 20:10-15, John 3:16, Romans 1:16, 10:14
